Whether this is a way to get people into Snake games or just taking a system that works and putting it online, Slither io is its own thing. It's large enough to require its own site and can host a number of players in a somewhat casual competition. These snakes have much more movement and speed which makes them far more exciting to see and control. Whenever another player shows up, there's a change in the air as you wonder what their intentions might be. You can be passive or aggressive, but you may have to defend yourself sooner than you think.

"How to Play
Slither io is an online multiplayer game that you can play with just the mouse. The snake will move at a constant speed in whichever direction it's facing.
Controls
Move Mouse Cursor - Change Direction
Left Mouse Button - Speed Boost
Your objective is to make your snake the biggest and longest by eating the various glowing pellets scattered around the field. You can track your location and the pellet density using the mini-map in the corner. Your two threats are the boundaries to the circular area and other players. If you headfirst into the boundary or another player's snake, you'll be destroyed and have to start over. However, if a player runs into your snake's body, they'll be destroyed and turn into pellets which you can then consume. There's no real end to the game, though you can shoot for the top ranking as indicated by the table in the top left corner of the screen.
Tips and Tricks
You can hold down the speed boost to move faster, but it's better to use this in short bursts which you can practice when your snake is small. Your own body isn't a threat, so feel free to turn into yourself for greater maneuvering. At the start, stick to the outskirts of the area since you'll encounter more players the closer you get to the center."
